The Brautist
The Brautist is a beerbrewer from Zwolle. In 2019 I was asked to design the logo above. In 2022 I wanted to experiment with digital painting and animation so I voluntarily started working on a label for his brew.
– Goal
Design a label that resembles the brewers character and the logo, and convert that into a ‘crazy chemist’ illustration.
Result
A hoppy Face
The Hoppy face refers to the Chemist’s obsession with perfect brews. In his continues experimenting, his passion became part of his identity. Elements like the flowing content and reflecting glow of the bottle are used to separate left from right. In this way I try to resemble the logo and depict a certain dualism in the character.
